Description
Narcissus Polar Ice is a crisp, early-flowering daffodil known for its ice-white petals and pale primrose cup that matures to ivory that evokes a cool, understated elegance in spring displays. Standing 35–40 cm tall, it brings freshness and refinement to minimalist planting schemes, hospital grounds, or spring bulb carpets designed for visual clarity and seasonal contrast.
Although not scented, Polar Ice provides a valuable nectar source for hoverflies and early bees. It flourishes in full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soil, tolerating light shade in urban or semi-sheltered settings. It’s particularly effective when planted en masse in civic verges, along reflective surfaces, or under light tree canopies where its whiteness adds brightness to underplanted layers.
Combine with blue Hyacinth Delft Blue, white Scilla mischtschenkoana, or Narcissus Thalia for cool-toned schemes that maintain structural cohesion across larger public or institutional spaces.
