Description
Narcissus Milena is a distinctive and fragrant mid-spring daffodil, prized for its slightly reflexed, pale yellow perianth marked by subtle white flames radiating from the base. Its delicate visual enhances the drama of its extravagant, flared yellow cup. Its blooms appear on stems reaching 35–40 cm, adding light, movement, and scent to refined spring borders and bulb schemes.
Milena performs best in full sun and free-draining, fertile soils, thriving equally well in front-of-border drifts, urban courtyard beds, or in massed combinations with softer-toned bulbs like Anemone blanda, Muscari Mountain Lady, or white Hyacinth such as Carnegie or White Pearl. It naturalises modestly and returns dependably year after year.
Its sweet, light fragrance and open, reflexed form make it both an ornamental standout and a valuable resource for bees and hoverflies, particularly in biodiversity-driven planting. A top choice for pollinator-focused formal beds, pastel-themed layouts, and sensory gardens that prioritise texture, scent, and ecological function.
