Narcissus Jetfire 11/12

Narcissus Jetfire 11/12

Low-growing golden daffodil with swept-back petals and an orange trumpet. Early flowering and pollinator-friendly.

Description

Narcissus Jetfire is a compact and dynamic early Cyclamineus hybrid known for its striking contrast and swept-back form. Each flower features bright golden-yellow petals that flare backward like swept wings and a vibrant, flared orange trumpet — giving the cultivar its “jet-like” appearance. Reaching only 20–25 cm tall, Jetfire is ideal for containers, low borders, raised beds, and front-of-border planting.

Its flowering window is early spring, and it is one of the best performers in windy, wet, or coastal Irish locations due to its low habit and strong stem. Jetfire’s vivid colours and early emergence make it an important source of nectar and pollen for queen bumblebees and early solitary bees at a time when few other bulbs are available.

Jetfire naturalises readily and works beautifully with dwarf tulips, Crocus tommasinianus, Muscari, or Anemone blanda. A superb pick for pollinator-focused planting, child-friendly sensory gardens, and spring bulb lawns where early activity and accessibility are paramount.
