Narcissus Ice King

Narcissus Ice King

Frilled, white double daffodil with lemon highlights. Ideal for containers, beds, and showpiece spring plantings.

Description

Narcissus Ice King is an exuberant double daffodil with a flamboyant, snow-white flower head packed with thick, layered petals interspersed with hints of pale yellow. Its blooms resemble a frosted garden rose and are borne on sturdy, upright stems that reach 35–45 cm tall, making a striking statement in containers, formal beds, or pastel spring displays.

Flowering in mid-spring, Ice King thrives in well-drained soils and sunny locations, though it can also handle light shade. In Irish conditions, it performs well in both public and private landscapes, with strong resistance to wind and rain due to its compact double form.

While double flowers are not as accessible for all pollinators, Ice King still provides structural interest and some pollen availability for short-tongued bees. It’s best used in pollinator-friendly schemes alongside open daffodils such as Carlton or Fortissimo to ensure broader nectar support. Ideal companions include white Hyacinth, pink Tulip Finola, or blue Scilla.
