Description

Narcissus Grand Soleil d’Or is supplied in practical 20kg bags for trade customers requiring larger quantities for forcing, container planting, sheltered displays, public gardens, commercial horticulture and seasonal spring schemes. Planted in autumn, this tazetta narcissus produces clusters of small, strongly scented flowers, with golden yellow petals and rounded orange cups. Each stem can carry multiple blooms, creating a full and richly coloured display from a relatively compact plant.

The flower form is quite different from a standard trumpet daffodil. Instead of one large flower per stem, Narcissus Grand Soleil d’Or produces several smaller blooms in a bunch-flowered style. The bright yellow petals and orange cups give a warm two-tone effect, while the strong fragrance makes it especially suitable for entrances, courtyard planters, retail displays, glasshouse forcing, indoor forcing and locations where visitors will be close enough to appreciate the scent.

This variety is particularly valued for forcing and container work, where its early flowering habit, compact size and scented flowers are useful for seasonal displays. It can also be used outdoors in mild, sheltered sites with free-draining soil, although it is generally better suited to protected planting than exposed naturalising schemes. For landscape use, it works best in containers, raised beds, sheltered borders and high-impact display areas rather than rough grass or exposed roadside planting.

For best results, plant in autumn in free-draining soil in full sun or good light, allowing sufficient depth and spacing for strong root establishment. When used for forcing, plant bulbs in pots or trays and bring them on under suitable conditions for early flowers. The 20kg bag format is ideal for professional growers, landscapers, estate gardeners, contractors, retail display teams and commercial horticultural customers managing larger seasonal planting requirements.
