Narcissus Golden Ducat – 25kg

Narcissus Golden Ducat – 25kg

Golden-yellow double daffodil with rich, ruffled blooms. Late flowering and ideal for dramatic displays and floral arrangements.

Description

Narcissus Golden Ducat is a striking, double-flowered daffodil with layered, rich golden-yellow petals that form peony-like, full-bodied blooms. This cultivar is all about opulence with its thick, ruffled flowers, long-lasting performance, and visual weight that adds spring drama to borders, estate plantings, and formal container displays.

Flowering in mid to late spring, it grows to 35–45 cm with sturdy stems that hold up well in wind and rain, making it suitable for Irish weather conditions, even in exposed urban or rural gardens. Best grown in well-drained, fertile soils in full sun, it naturalises slowly and benefits from seasonal feeding for best return year after year.

While its densely packed form limits nectar access compared to open-faced types, it still provides visual interest and landing zones for hoverflies and short-tongued bees, and works well in mixed pollinator schemes when offset with single-flowered bulbs like Narcissus Carlton or Crocus tommasinianus.

Ideal for wedding-style planting schemes, historic restoration projects, and premium flower cutting gardens. Combines well with white Anemones or soft pink tulips for a stately, golden display.
