Description
Narcissus Goblet is a striking large-cupped daffodil distinguished by its crisp white petals and a vivid, ruffled sunny yellow trumpet that flares outward like a chalice. The contrast between the cool perianth and the warm, golden cup creates a brilliant two-tone effect that’s particularly impactful in mass plantings, structured beds, or early-season focal points.
Reaching 40–45 cm in height, Goblet flowers in early to mid-spring and holds up well to wind and rain, making it well suited to both exposed rural sites and urban landscaping. It performs best in full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soils, naturalising readily over the years with minimal care.
Its wide, open trumpet structure provides excellent pollinator access for bumblebees, honeybees, and hoverflies emerging during the critical early spring window. Ideal for integration into biodiversity planting schemes, civic verge displays, or formal estate gardens with layered planting plans. Companion it with Muscari armeniacum, Crocus Cream Beauty or Ard Schenk, or early tulips for a rhythmic, biodiverse planting matrix.
Excellent in pollinator-conscious civic planting and formalised spring layouts where golden contrast and structural integrity are key.
