Narcissus Baby Boomer

Narcissus Baby Boomer

A miniature, multi-flowering narcissus with sweet fragrance. Ideal for Irish rockeries, containers, and early pollinator support.

Description

Narcissus Baby Boomer is a miniature, multi-flowering daffodil with outstanding value for both small-scale design and mass planting. Each sturdy stem produces up to 8–12 petite, golden-yellow blooms, each with a cheerful rounded cup and a light, sweet fragrance. Growing to just 15–20 cm, this compact cultivar is ideal for rockeries, path edging, containers, and underplanting schemes in commercial spaces such as hotel borders, nursing homes, or public beds where low-maintenance colour is key.

Flowering from early March, Baby Boomer provides essential early-season support for pollinators, and its tidy, grass-like foliage is unobtrusive in mixed plantings. It thrives in full sun or partial shade and is well suited to free-draining loamy or sandy soils, though it adapts to heavier Irish soils with the addition of grit.

It is extremely efficient for hand-planted edge schemes, roof gardens, or design-led low-mow lawn borders.

Use in combination with early crocus, Iris reticulata, or Muscari armeniacum for layered bulb effect.
