Description
Lilium Black Beauty is a dramatic, late-season classic — deep ruby petals darkening to rich maroon with reflexed tips and a pale green star at the centre, producing an exotic, turks-cap effect that nods gracefully downward. A favourite for mature perennial borders, exotic planting styles, late-season interest and tall back-of-border impact. Flowers August onwards, extending colour when many lilies have finished, making it invaluable in Irish seasonal succession plantings. Light fragrance and excellent garden presence; adored by hoverflies, moths and pollinating beetles when flowers open fully. Works well with Crocosmia, tall grasses, Dahlias, Japanese Anemones and late Salvias for deep-autumn rhythm. Plant in sun or partial shade, fertile soil with drainage and protection from wind for best stem quality.
