Description
Iris reticulata Painted Lady brings a delicate and refined beauty to the early spring garden, with soft lilac-pink petals marked by white and butter-yellow accents. This elegant dwarf iris reaches just 10–15 cm in height, making it a standout feature in containers, alpine screes, gravel beds, and border fronts. Particularly effective when planted en masse or in drifts, Painted Lady works well with white snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) and pale Crocus chrysanthus cultivars like Cream Beauty for a pastel-toned palette.
Thrives in well-drained soil and full sun. A great candidate for dry borders or even green roof projects in Ireland. Though not the top choice for pollinators, it can support early-emerging solitary bees.
