Description
Garlic Morado is a Spanish hardneck type recognised for purple skins and bold flavour, and it is sold in Ireland as well suited to local conditions when grown in well drained soil. Hardneck garlic is valued for punchy taste and typically produces robust cloves, with good kitchen performance for roasting and sauces.
Plant cloves in full sun in fertile, well drained soil, as excess winter moisture increases rot risk. Harvest timing is when leaves yellow, commonly late June to July for autumn planted garlic, then cure and dry well for storage. If customers plant later into early spring, harvest tends to shift later into mid summer
