Description
Galanthus nivalis Flore Pleno is the double-flowered form of the common snowdrop, producing refined, multi-layered white blooms with a delicate green flush on the inner petals. Slightly later to flower than the single type, it adds texture and complexity to early-spring planting.
Ideal for naturalising in lightly shaded areas, this cultivar thrives in Ireland’s moist soils and cool winters. It’s often chosen for estate gardens, old walled gardens, and heritage schemes where subtle flower form is appreciated. Like all snowdrops, it spreads steadily in undisturbed ground and pairs beautifully with cyclamen, hellebores, and primroses.
Best planted in clumps for impact, and suited to planting both “in the green” and from dormant bulbs in early autumn.
