Description
Fritillaria uva-vulpis, or fox’s grape Fritillary, brings understated elegance to spring borders and meadows with its nodding, bell-shaped flowers in shades of bronze-purple edged in gold. Reaching 20–30 cm tall, it blends beautifully into low-maintenance planting schemes and naturalised settings, thriving in moist but well-drained soils.
A perfect bulb for woodland margins or lightly shaded meadow gardens, this Fritillaria performs well in Irish climates and multiplies gradually over time. Pair it with Muscari latifolium, Anemone blanda, or Narcissus triandrus for textural and seasonal harmony.
