Fritillaria imp. Red Beauty

Fritillaria imp. Red Beauty

Deep red-orange crown imperial ideal for adding drama and contrast to spring borders. A hardy, show-stopping favourite for landscape design. Attractive to early pollinators.

Description

Fritillaria imperialis Red Beauty lives up to its name with rich ruby-red, pendant bells set beneath a crown of bright green foliage. Growing to 90–110 cm tall, it’s an eye-catching architectural spring bulb, ideal for adding strong vertical lines and warm colour to Irish borders.

Its early blooms are a valuable nectar source for pollinators emerging from hibernation. Best planted in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun, this variety works well in mixed herbaceous schemes alongside Allium Early Emperor or Camassia quamash. Deer-resistant and visually striking when planted in clusters of three or more.
