Description
Fritillaria persica Purple Dynamite offers dramatic vertical architecture with rich, almost black-purple bell-shaped flowers held on stately stems up to 90–100 cm. Flowering in mid-spring, this striking species is ideal for bold planting in sunny, free-draining Irish soils, particularly in south-facing borders or gravel gardens.
Its dark tones pair beautifully with contrasting pale or silver-leaved companions such as Tulipa White Triumphator or Allium Mount Everest. It makes an elegant focal point in modern perennial plantings or as part of mixed naturalistic borders.
Fritillaria persica thrives best when left undisturbed in well-drained conditions, preferably with protection from strong coastal winds.
