Description
Fritillaria imperialis Helena is a soft and elegant variant with pale yellow blooms hanging gracefully beneath a leafy green tuft. Its spring display provides early-season interest for Irish pollinators, particularly bumblebees and solitary bees.
Reaching up to 100 cm, it’s best planted in sunny, sheltered spots with free-draining, humus-rich soils. Combine it with cool-toned companions like Muscari or Camassia to balance its buttery tones and provide prolonged flower interest. Like all crown imperials, it naturally deters moles and deer, making it especially useful in rural landscapes.
