Dahlia Singer® I

Dahlia Singer® I

Dahlia Gallery Singer is a compact Gallery type dahlia producing fully double blooms in vivid red to deep red tones. Suits Irish gardeners, horticulturists and landscapers in pots, front borders, garden displays and mass planting.

Description

Dahlia Gallery Singer is used when you need strong red colour in a controlled plant. The compact habit keeps it neat in containers and tight border spaces, while the fully double blooms deliver clear impact from mid summer into autumn. Colour sits in vivid red through to deeper red tones, giving a classic look that reads well at distance in large beds and still looks sharp up close in patio pots. Singer is well suited to uniform container programmes, repeated drifts in smaller beds and entrance planting where colour needs to be obvious and maintenance predictable. Red works best when it has space to read, so use repeated groups and keep neighbouring colours simpler. It pairs strongly with whites and silvers for contrast, or with warm oranges and bronzes for a richer late season palette. As a fully double flower, pollinator access can be limited. Support biodiversity by planting nectar rich companions nearby such as salvia, nepeta, verbena, oregano, thyme, borage or phacelia. Plant after frost risk in full sun and free draining soil improved with compost. Keep moisture steady, feed from bud stage onwards, and deadhead regularly for continuous flowering. It performs reliably in wind-exposed rural plots, adapting well once established and tolerating the cooler, wetter spells typical of the Irish climate.
