Description
Dahlia Pooh is used for cheerful, high visibility colour and strong garden performance. The collarette structure keeps the flower centre accessible, making it pollinator friendly, and the colouring typically sits in orange to orange red shades with bright yellow collar and centre accents that keep beds looking sunny even in dull weather. Pooh works well in repeated blocks through public beds, mixed seasonal displays, and visitor facing borders where warm colour is needed from mid summer into autumn. It is particularly effective near seating areas, café terraces, and along main paths because the colour reads from distance and the pollinator activity is obvious up close. It is a strong plant for patio borders, wildlife corners, and cutting gardens, giving characterful stems for informal bouquets. Combine with lavender, oregano, and nepeta to keep pollinators feeding around the planting for longer. Plant after frost risk in full sun and free draining soil improved with compost. Feed from bud stage, deadhead regularly, and lift tubers after the first frosts.
