Description
Dahlia Glorie Van Noordwijk is valued for its clear orange colour, used by Irish horticulturists to build warm, energetic planting through late summer and early autumn. Orange reads strongly in civic beds, commercial planters and entrance displays, and it also works well in home gardens where customers want obvious colour impact with minimal fuss. In planting schemes, orange dahlias combine naturally with yellows and reds for a hot palette, or they can be used to punctuate cooler planting with blues and purples. In private gardens it performs well in large patio containers, and it is also useful for cutting, giving bright stems that lift mixed bouquets. Pair it with salvias, echinacea, rudbeckia and ornamental grasses to keep a structured look into autumn. Plant after frost risk in full sun and free draining soil enriched with compost. Water evenly through summer, deadhead frequently and feed from bud stage onwards. Stake if exposed. Lift tubers after the first frosts and store frost free.
