Description
Dahlia Bumble Rumble is a lively collarette dahlia, the type bees and butterflies absolutely home in on thanks to its open pollen access and central nectar landing zone. Flowers are a striking bi-colour blend of deep pink to raspberry outer petals — often streaked or brushed with darker reddish tones — surrounding a crisp white inner collar and a bright yellow centre. The contrast is electric, playful and instantly noticeable in a border, giving the look of a miniature festival in bloom form. Because of its collarette structure, pollinators can easily reach the nectar and pollen, making Bumble Rumble a superb choice for biodiversity corridors, community wildlife gardens, school pollinator projects, cottage gardens, prairie-style schemes and ornamental mixed plantings where visual impact and ecological value matter equally. It flowers continuously from July to first frost, providing late-season forage at a time when insect food can start to decline. Thrives in full sun, fertile moisture-retentive Irish soil with good drainage, and benefits from steady feeding throughout summer. Excellent in front-of-border planting, raised beds, patio planters, roadside displays, allotment cut-flower rows and high-colour mixed borders. Works beautifully with single dahlias, Cosmos, Rudbeckia, Salvia, and soft grasses for movement and nectar layering. Cut flowers hold well in arrangements, bringing joyful colour indoors with a cheerful two-tone pop.
