Dahlia Bull’s Pride I

Dahlia Bulls Pride is a single tuber prepack producing pure white dinnerplate blooms with a full double flower form for high impact summer to autumn display. Ideal for Irish borders, statement pots and cutting, supplied as single bulb packs in outers of 5.

Description

Dahlia Bulls Pride is grown for oversized dinnerplate flowers in a clean, pure white, with a full double bloom that looks plush and deliberate in the garden. White dinnerplate dahlias are widely used by Irish horticulturists in formal borders, hotel planters and event focused planting because they brighten planting schemes, read strongly at distance, and look especially good in evening light. In home gardens it is a strong choice near patios and entrances, where the scale of the blooms can be appreciated up close. The full double white flowers also make excellent cut stems for large arrangements, wedding work and summer bouquets, and regular cutting or deadheading encourages the plant to keep producing fresh blooms into autumn. In border design, Bulls Pride works best planted in small groups to create a clear block of white, or used as a linking plant between stronger colours. It pairs well with ornamental grasses, lavender, salvias, blush pinks, deep burgundies and dark leaved foliage for strong contrast. Plant the tuber after frost risk has passed, in full sun and fertile, free draining soil improved with compost. Keep moisture steady through summer, especially in containers. Stake in exposed sites to protect heavy blooms, feed from bud stage onwards and deadhead regularly to maintain continuous flowering. Lift and store tubers frost free after the first frosts for reliable replanting in Ireland.
