Dahlia Autumn Fairy I

Dahlia Autumn Fairy I

Dahlia Autumn Fairy tubers produce warm, autumn toned blooms in apricot, peach and soft orange shades, often with deeper rosy tones as flowers mature. Suits Irish landscapers and horticulturists for borders, pots and cutting. Sold in bulk.

Description

Dahlia Autumn Fairy is selected for late season colour that looks natural in Irish planting as summer transitions into autumn. The blooms typically sit in warm apricot, peach and soft orange tones, sometimes deepening toward rosy or bronze notes depending on light and stage. This makes it useful for large schemes where the brief is to keep beds looking rich and finished in August and September, especially alongside grasses and seed heads. For landscapers and horticulturists, use it in repeated drifts to create continuity through long borders, entrance beds and public display planting. Warm tones also hold up well in variable Irish weather and photograph well for visitor facing sites. As a fuller flower type, pollinator access may be limited compared with single dahlias. Balance the planting with nectar rich companions nearby such as echinacea and cosmos. Plant after frost risk in full sun and free draining soil improved with compost. It performs reliably in wind-exposed rural plots, adapting well once established and tolerating the cooler, wetter spells typical of the Irish climate.  Best planted in fertile, free-draining soil with good sun exposure, it also benefits from shelter from strong Atlantic winds.
