In home gardens it performs well as a feature plant near patios or against light walls and fences where the dark flowers stand out. Pair it with white cosmos, pale echinacea, silvery artemisia, ornamental grasses and softer pinks to get the most from the colour. Plant after frost risk in full sun and well drained soil.
