Description

Convallaria majalis (Lily-of-the Valley) ‘Rosea’ is a well-known plant with wonderfully fragrant pink flowers. The small, bell-shaped flowers form in clusters on the stems. Lily-of-the-Valley are particularly suitable for the shade, so is excellent to fill bare spots. The Lily-of-the-Valley grows well in the garden. Make a spacious planting hole and loosen the soil well. Place the root ball of Convallaria majalis at the correct height in the planting hole. The top of the root ball should be just below soil level. Fill the planting hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. Convallaria majalis grows well in partial or full shade. The Convallaria quickly forms a carpet of fresh green leaves. For example, use them as ground cover between shrubs or make a spring combination with broken hearts (Dicentra spectabilis). Convallaria majalis is a strong ground cover that requires little maintenance. The plant is self-expanding and covers the soil just fine. If the Lily-of-the-Valley become too big, you can easily cut off a piece.
