Description
Camassia leichtlinii Alba adds subtle elegance to late spring and early summer plantings with its tall, tapering spires of creamy-white flowers. Reaching heights of 90–120cm, this cultivar makes a statement in mixed herbaceous borders, damp meadows, or naturalised around ponds and orchard edges.
It’s especially valued by Irish landscapers for its architectural form, resilience to damp conditions, and compatibility with both modern and wild schemes. Plant in groups through moisture-retentive soil, ideally where sunlight reaches the foliage during early growth. For contrasting textures and colours, combine with Camassia leichtlinii Caerulea, Fritillaria meleagris or Leucojum.
This variety is a favourite for pollinator planting too as its sequentially opening flowers provide nectar over several weeks. Once established, it returns reliably year after year.
