Description
Species Tulip Little Beauty is a compact botanical tulip for planting where small scale and fine flower detail are required. It is not a tulip for distant bedding blocks. Its value is in close-view impact: short stems, bright pink-red petals and a distinctive blue-and-white centre that becomes visible as the flowers open. The flowers are reddish pink to crimson-red, with a blue centre edged in white.
Little Beauty is best placed where visitors can look down into the open flowers. It suits raised planters, courtyard containers, gravel borders, public garden collections, estate path edges, hotel garden displays, rockery-style beds and compact commercial landscapes. Its low height means it should be used at the front of a scheme, not behind taller narcissus or hybrid tulips.
Little Beauty combines well with blue muscari, early crocus, low narcissus, white species tulips, pale yellow botanical tulips, fine grasses and simple spring perennials.
