Description
Begonia ‘Pastel Compacta Mix’ can be admired for months as it is among the longest summer and autumn bloomers, flowering from June through October. ‘Pastel Compacta Mix’ rosette shaped doubles are a combination of pastel shades, including yellow and orange flowers that grow to 25 cm. These easy to grow, powerhouse flowers look great not only in planters on the balcony or terrace, but also in the garden between the lower annual plants. The best planting period for Begonia is spring after the danger of frost has passed. Plant the tubers with their hollow sides up cover them with a thin layer of moist retaining compost enriched soil, and place preferably in partial shade. However, if you keep the Begonia in full sun, make sure to water at least 2-3 times per week in the afternoon when there is no direct sun. Begonia can hibernate just fine if you take the necessary action. Lift tubers or bring pots into a dry cool area when the first night frost is forecast. In the spring, when there is no longer a chance of frost, plant the Begonia back outside.
