Description
Allium schubertii is a very special organically grown, large allium variety. Allium schubertii is also called the “fireworks” allium due to the somewhat “explosive” appearance. The plant bears spiky heads of flowers of varying lengths giving it a wild look and the individual florets are purple with green centres. The umbels can be more than 30-35cm in diameter. After flowering, the faded umbels remain decorative in the garden for a long time. Plant Allium schubertii in well drained soil in a sunny spot in your borders or in containers. Used in cut flower arrangement to make an unusual statement. Allium schubertii attracts butterflies and bees during flowering.
