Description
Allium convallarioides Pink is a refined ornamental allium chosen for its compact habit and clear pink star shaped flowers that lift late spring and early summer planting with sharp colour and excellent structure. It suits professional planting where a smaller allium is needed rather than a towering drumstick type, making it useful for the front of sunny borders, raised beds, gravel gardens, courtyards, roof terraces and well drained civic planting where a neat finish matters. The flower form is open and clean, giving bees and other pollinating insects easy access, so it contributes practical biodiversity value as well as visual effect. In Irish conditions it performs best in full sun with free draining soil and looks especially effective threaded through low grasses, silver foliage, hardy geraniums or compact perennials where the pink flowers can read clearly above the surrounding leaves. The slim stems and starry heads also bring a lighter, more naturalistic feel than heavier allium varieties, so it is well suited to hotels, designed borders and professional schemes that need detail, movement and a long season of interest.
