Description
Dahlia Fenna Baaij is grown for refined colour and a high texture bloom that still supports pollinators. The flowers show soft lilac pink outer petals surrounding a pronounced centre touched with warm yellow gold, giving depth and a premium look without harsh contrast. The open, workable centre makes it very pollinator friendly and useful in planting where biodiversity is part of the brief. It shines in large patio pots and sunny borders and cuts well for mixed vases where the anemone centre gives extra character. Pair it with grasses, nepeta, salvias and pale foliage for a calm scheme. Use it in repeated groups to create rhythm, or weave it through long borders as a linking colour between whites, blush tones and deeper purples. It works well in sheltered courtyards and terrace planters where the flower detail can be appreciated. Plant after frost risk in full sun and free draining soil enriched with compost. Keep moisture steady, feed from bud stage, deadhead regularly, and lift tubers after the first frosts.
