Description
Lilium Nettys Pride is a dramatic Asiatic lily with deep maroon to near-black petals boldly tipped and edged with clean white, creating a striking bicolour contrast that stands out instantly in borders or cut-flower arrangements. Strong, upright stems carry multiple blooms in early to mid-summer, giving weeks of colour in mixed beds, perennial plantings, commercial borders, hotel schemes and cut-flower rows. The flowers have a light fragrance, not overwhelming but noticeable when close, ideal for gardeners who like scent without intensity. As a pollen source, lilies are valuable for hoverflies, pollinating beetles and night insects, especially when planted among companion nectar plants like Nepeta, Salvia, Echinacea, Hemerocallis, Achillea and lavender. Thrives in full sun or light dappled shade in fertile, well-drained Irish soil. Plant in groups of 5–10 for visual presence; excellent in containers, formal beds, contemporary borders and summer event displays.
