Description

Tulip Flashback is a striking yellow lily-flowered tulip that brings architectural elegance and bold, luminous colour to mid-spring planting schemes. Each bloom is a clean, golden yellow with gracefully pointed petals that taper and reflex outwards as they mature — forming a star-like silhouette that dances in wind and sun. Its bloom form is narrow yet commanding, offering dynamic shape and vertical structure across April-May displays.

Growing to around 40–45 cm tall, Flashback is ideal for mixed borders, civic beds, and formal or informal mass plantings that benefit from height, contrast, and movement. It thrives in full sun and moderately fertile, free-draining soils — avoid waterlogging or high organic matter levels to maintain stem strength. In Irish conditions, it performs particularly well in breezy, open sites and coastal beds where traditional tulips might struggle with wind stress.

This lily-flowered type provides better-than-average access for pollinators due to its open, flared structure.
