Description
Narcissus Yellow Cheerfulness is a fragrant, multi-headed double daffodil known for its rich, buttery colour and romantic, old-fashioned charm. Each sturdy 35–45 cm stem bears 3–5 rosette-shaped golden yellow blooms with ruffled petals that give a full, peony-like appearance. Blooming in mid to late spring, it offers structure, fragrance, and long-lasting colour that enhances both modern and traditional schemes alike.
Thriving in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, Yellow Cheerfulness is an ideal candidate for estate lawns, scented planting borders, courtyard container displays, and spring cutting gardens. Its clustered form delivers lush volume and excellent vase life, making it a favourite for floristry, wedding venues, and hospitality landscapes across Ireland.
The blooms have a strong, sweet floral scent that attracts human attention and supports hoverflies and early-season insects in mild conditions. Best planted in groups for bold effect, it performs beautifully with Tulip Ballerina, Hyacinth City of Haarlem, or underplanted with Muscari armeniacum in mixed public bulb schemes.
