Tulip Cadans

Tulip Cadans

A red-orange tulip that is ideal for vibrant spring beds, planters, and seasonal colour schemes.

Description

Tulip Cadans is a bold double early tulip with tightly packed petals in rich red-orange tones, sometimes brushed with warm amber or coral depending on light. Blooming in early to mid-April at 30–35 cm tall, it delivers exceptional vibrancy and form at the front of borders or in containerised spring displays. Cadans has excellent longevity and make a bold early-season colour statement.

This cultivar thrives in fertile, free-draining soil in full sun, performing particularly well in sheltered beds, raised planters, or urban gardens seeking punchy seasonal colour. It’s an ideal choice for formal spring beds, public displays, and compact garden borders where warmth and depth of tone are desired.

Cadans pairs well with mid-height yellows like Tulip Golden Apeldoorn, dark contrasts such as Ronaldo, or vivid underplantings of Muscari. Its strong red-orange tone also integrates well with rust-toned cultivars.

Though not strongly fragrant, its semi-open structure may support incidental hoverfly visits when integrated into pollinator-aware schemes. Best used in blocks or structured drift planting for mass impact.
