Description
Dahlia Boom Boom White is valued for uniform pompon flowers that look precise from first bloom to last. The blooms are small, tight and spherical in crisp white, giving a clean texture that works in formal schemes, wedding style planting and any situation where you need a controlled finish rather than oversized flowers. Pompons handle weather better than many large types, keeping their shape and looking presentable in Irish conditions. It is a strong option for repeated edging lines, neat drifts through lower beds, and containers. White is a practical linking colour across large sites, lifting planting in dull weather and evening light. It is also excellent for patio pots and cutting patches, producing plenty of stems for posies and mixed bouquets. Deadheading keeps the plant flowering for weeks. This type of dahlia is not biodiverse so you may want to strengthen biodiversity by planting near salvia, nepeta, verbena bonariensis, oregano, borage or phacelia. Plant after frost risk in full sun and free draining soil improved with compost. Keep moisture steady, feed from bud stage, deadhead regularly, then lift and store tubers frost free after the first frosts.
