Scilla siberica Spring Beauty is a strong blue scilla selected for its larger flowers and more substantial visual impact in early spring planting. It is ideal for broader drifts in grass, woodland edge schemes, public beds and naturalised landscape projects where the standard forms may be too fine in scale. Horticulturists and county councils can use it to create a more visible early blue display at low level while still retaining the easy naturalising character that makes scilla so useful. In Irish conditions it performs well in open sites and under light deciduous shade, and it is especially effective when used in repeated groups to create rhythm and depth across larger planting areas.
