Not just for spring anymore, Crocus Kotschyanus is an autumn flowering bloom that boasts long, tubular pale purple flowers with yellow throat and creamy stamens. The lilac, almost pink, petals sit atop stems that don’t have any foliage until later in the winter. Plant en masse or in drifts in sunny autumn borders, beds, gravel or rock gardens, wildflower meadows, slopes and banks, or in pots on the patio or balcony. Very suitable for naturalising or as ground cover. Bee-friendly.
